PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guidance display system composing and displaying a captured image and a guidance without obstructing operationality when performing an operation for an object while viewing a display image.SOLUTION: The guidance display system captures an image of an MFP (Multi-Functional Peripheral) as a device subject to an operation with a portable terminal (S2), and identifies the MFP by analyzing the captured image (S3). The portable terminal acquires a situation from the MFP (S4 and 5) and identifies a position for composing a guidance image according to the situation to the captured image on the basis of a position of an operation site and a position where an operator is supposed to approach the hand (S7). The guidance display system thus displays a display image obtained by composing the guidance image to the captured image (S8).
