Disclosed are a method and system for realizing packet authentication, the method comprising: a network entity sending packet authentication request information about a machine type communication (MTC) packet to an MTC packet member which establishes an association with the MTC packet; and the MTC packet member performing bi-directional authentication with the network entity according to an MTC packet identification in the packet authentication request information and an MTC packet key of the MTC packet, wherein the MTC packet member comprises: an MTC device and/or an MTC application. |
