Provided are an image coding and decoding method and device. The image coding method comprises: performing matching coding on pixels of an input video image to obtain one or more matching relationship parameters, wherein the matching relationship parameters are parameters utilized in a process of constructing a prediction value and/or a recovery value of the pixels of the image; mapping the matching relationship parameters to obtain a mapping value of the matching relationship parameters; and performing entropy coding on the mapping value of the matching relationship parameters. The present invention addresses the problem in the related art caused by directly performing entropy coding on matching relationship parameters, thus realizing a good data compression effect of the entropy coding.
