<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method of a fuel cell enabled to detect a thin part of an electrolyte film without dividing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The inspection method of the fuel cell including a hydrogen electrode, an oxygen electrode, and an electrolyte film with protonic conductivity provided between the both electrodes comprises a process S1 of supplying hydrogen gas to the hydrogen electrode as well as inert gas to the oxygen electrode, a process S2 of controlling voltage between the both electrodes so that a reaction of the following formula (1) is generated at a hydrogen electrode side and that of the following formula (2) is generated at an oxygen electrode side, with the above gases being supplied, and a process S3 of measuring a current density distribution within a face of the fuel cell with the voltage in a controlled state.
