A system for providing a user defined font based on handwriting data is provided to enable a user to generate and use the user defined font conveniently in a short time by receiving handwriting data from the user and updating basic data for making the font with the received handwriting data. A personal handwriting data collector(110) receives personal handwriting data. A class handwriting data storing part(130) stores handwriting data of each class. A user defined font generator(150) generates a user defined font corresponding to the personal handwriting data by analyzing the personal handwriting data based on the handwriting data of each class. A user defined font provider(170) stores and provides the user defined font by responding to a font provision request. The user defined font generator includes a personal handwriting data modeler performing user dependent modeling for the personal handwriting data, a class model storing part storing a modeling result by performing user independent modeling for the handwriting data of each class, and a user defined font composer composing the user defined font by comparing the user dependent modeling result with the user independent modeling result. |
