A subminiature optical system is provided to enhance assemblage and prevent optical performance from being affected by assembly clearance by adequately securing a rear focal distance. A subminiature optical system includes first and second lenses(L1,L2). The first lens has negative refractive power. At least one refractive surface of the first lens is formed in a non-spherical surface. The second lens has positive refractive power. At least one refractive surface of the second lens is formed in a non-spherical surface. A dimension of an optical axis direction of the subminiature optical system satisfies conditions of 1.8 < TL/f < 2.3, Wherein the TL is a distance from an object side surface of the first lens to an upper surface, and the f is an effective focal distance of the whole optical system.
