PURPOSE: To provide a method of manufacturing a formed ceramic product with exactitude in surface pattern and with mitigated contraction and deformation on firing, by pressing a preformed object to reduce its volume keeping similarity in form with liquid pressure given from outside of a covering film system. CONSTITUTION: A forming method of ceramics is comprised of a molding process to form preliminary product 81 in stable shape and subsequent firing process of the preliminary product 81 to form final product. In the molding process of the above method, the ceramic material is brought into contact with at least one substantially rigid surface to form a preliminary product in stable shape 81 similar to the final product. Then the preliminary product 81 wholly enveloped with a covering film system 88 is pressed with liquid pressure given from outside of the film system 88, without pressing against a rigid surface, to form a product to be fired, keeping similarity in shape and reducing volume. |
