PURPOSE:To improve water resistance, oil resistance and the long-term preservability of a developed color image by forming a thermal recording material by providing a thermal color forming layer containing a dye precursor, a specific developer and a specific org. compound on a sheet substrate. CONSTITUTION:A developer being a compound represented by formula (wherein X is 0 or S, R is a non-substituted alkyl group, A is a divalent or more group and n is an integer of 2 or more), a colorless or light-colored dye precursor and an org. compound having one or more epoxy group are mixed with and dispersed in a solvent in predetermined amounts to prepare a coating solution for a thermal color forming layer. This coating solution is applied to a sheet like substrate such as paper, laminated paper or a plastic film and dried to form the thermal color forming layer to obtain a thermal recording material. A known sensitizer, a phenolic or org. acid type developer, an oxidation inhibitor, an ultraviolet absorber and waxes can be compounded with the thermal color forming layer if necessary. |
