PURPOSE: To make a heat drive device compact and reduce its manufacturing cost by raising the performance of a heating means. CONSTITUTION: A combustion unit 18, which heats a heater tube 15, through which operating gas runs, of a heat drive device, is composed to have it cover the upper part of a cylinder 9 of a first gas operating device and is provided with a combustion chamber 19 to which an air supply part 34 for supplying combustion air thereto is facing and made in a cylindrical space containing the heater tube 15 therein. The periphery of the combustion chamber 19 is enclosed by a plurality of flat plate shaped hollow air preheaters 36 longitudinally arranged nearly in the tangential direction, combustion air introduced through a part of the shell of the combustion unit 18 is branched into respective air preheaters 36 and supplied to the air supply part 34, and combustion exhaust gas generated in the combustion chamber 19 is exhausted outside therefrom through gaps between respective air preheaters 36 by an exhaust port 57 provided on a part of the shell of the combustion unit 18. |
