<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared apparatus capable of performing infrared communication in an apparatus (hereinafter referred to as an imaging apparatus) with a lens mounted thereto for photographing a video image, and further capable of confirming a place where infrared rays are received from the photographing object confirming section of the imaging apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to an infrared apparatus characterized by being mounted to an imaging apparatus and on the optical axis of the imaging apparatus. In Figure, 1 indicates a digital single-lens reflex camera body, 2 indicates a mirror, 3 indicates a shutter, 4 indicates a film, 5 indicates a finder, 6 indicates a pentaprism, 7 indicates a screen, 8 indicates a lens, 9 indicates an optical axis, and A indicates the infrared apparatus.
