A draining device, an air conditioner having the draining device and a method for controlling the air conditioner are provided to deal with normality or operation of the draining device and backflow of fluid by installing a pressure sensing unit which generates signals corresponding to a ductile material which is deformed by pressure of fluid. A draining device(100) comprises a drain pump(120), a drainpipe(140) and a pressure detecting device(200). The drain pump pumps out the fluid collected in a collecting unit. The pumped fluid is discharged through the drainpipe. The pressure detecting device detects pressure of the fluid in the drainpipe. The pressure detecting device includes a ductile member(240) forming a part of the drainpipe and a pressure sensing part(220). The pressure sensing part generates signals corresponding to the pressure of fluid, which is transferred through the ductile member.
