<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle collision safety device of relatively simple structure to mitigate the shock on thighs, ankles and a chest of an occupant to improve the safety when a large external force is applied in a vehicle collision etc. SOLUTION: A push-up mechanism part 1 to push thighs 11 upward when an external force is applied is provided on a front end side of a seat cushion 7 under the thighs 11 of an occupant 10 seated in a seat part 17. When the thighs 12 are lifted, feet 12 of the occupant 10 are detached from a brake pedal 19 to eliminate the effect of the impact to ankles 12a by the brake pedal 19. Compression from a steering wheel 18 on a chest part 13 is mitigated to greatly reduce damages by the steering wheel 18. Since the thighs 11 are released upward, the pressure during the abutting on an instrument panel 15 which is generated in the thighs 11 is greatly reduced.</p> |
