PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new recombinant polypeptide having a specific amino acid sequence, consisting of an antigenic protein of Helicobacter pylori, having immunogenicity and useful for a vaccine for the treatment, the diagnosis and the like of infection of the above bacterium. SOLUTION: This recombinant polypeptide having immunogenicity, and exhibiting no function or substantially a low function as a toxin has the following characteristics: a new recombinant polypeptide containing a continuous sequence of at least 8 amino acids; the continuous sequence of at least 8 amino acids contains at least one site; the site can be bound to an antibody against Helicobacter pylori both in the sequence consisting of the continuous sequence of at least 8 amino acids and in the polypeptide; the continuous sequence of at least 8 amino acids is obtained from the amino acid sequence of the formula; and this polypeptide is useful for a vaccine, the diagnosis or the like of the infection of the above bacterium.
