PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device in which a sheet film is not affected by the peripheral speed of the driven roller of exit roller pairs and its flatness is maintained, and a carrying means causing no trouble in image formation is equipped in the vicinity of a position for carrying out optical scanning. SOLUTION: The image recording device is provided with a carrying means including inlet roller pairs and the exit roller pairs for carrying the sheet film to be scanned in the one-dimensional direction, in the subscanning direction almost orthogonal thereto. The peripheral speed of the driven roller of the exit roller pairs positioned at the downstream side of the position for carrying out optical scanning is adjusted to be faster than that of the subscanning speed except when the exit roller pairs hold and carry the sheet film.
