PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating laver, by which various sea weeds, such as diatoms and green laver, adhered to or mixed with cultured laver can be exterminated and various diseases caused by pathogenic microbes, such as SUMINORISHO (acicular bacteriosis) can effectively be controlled or prevented, and which reduces loads on ocean environments as much as possible, and to provide a laver-treating agent. SOLUTION: This method for treating laver to exterminate various sea weeds on the laver and control various diseases of the laver, comprising using an electrolyzed solution (laver-treating agent) obtained by electrolyzing an organic acid seawater solution, is characterized in that the organic acid is at least one of organic acids having acid dissociation exponents (pKa) of≥4.
