PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new antimicrobial agent excellent in antimicrobial activity. SOLUTION: The novel 4-pyridylamino pyrimidine derivative of formula (1) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>is a hydrogen atom or a fluorine atom; R<SP>2</SP>is a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower haloalkyl group or a nitro group; X is a chlorine atom, a bromine atom or an iodine atom; and n is an integer of 0-4) is excellent in antimicrobial activity against E.-coli, Sacchalomyces. celibiciae, Aspergillus niger, Trametes vesicola and Fomitopsis palustris.
