摘要 <p>This invention provides a multifunctional material that can easily adsorb VOC, has high photocatalytic activity and can function as a visible light-responsive photocatalyst by virtue of a large surface area and doping with carbon, and, at the same time, has high hardness and has excellent peeling resistance, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, and heat resistance. The multifunctional material has a number of protrusions of titanium oxide or titanium alloy oxide on at least a part of the surface. For example, on at least a part of the surface, a layer in which fine columns of titanium oxide or titanium alloy oxide stand is exposed, or a number of continuous narrow-width protrusions of titanium oxide or titanium alloy oxide, and fine columns, which stand on the protrusions, are exposed on a thin film. The protrusions, for example, the fine columns, and the narrow-width protrusions have been doped with carbon.</p>
