An airbag for a vehicle and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to employ a tether fixed between airbag cushions to control the deployment of the airbag so that the protrusion of the airbag toward a passenger is adjusted. A airbag includes an airbag cushion(1) and a spread control tether(4). The airbag cushion includes a front plate(2) and a rear plate(3). The deployment control tether is attached to the airbag cushion. An inflator hole(7) is formed at the central portion of the rear plate. The inflator hole is connected to an inflator so that gas is supplied into the airbag cushion. The deployment control tether includes a plurality of wings(5). The wings have a cross shape. The wing has a pair of wing surfaces(6). The wing surfaces are fixed onto the front plate and the rear plate.
