PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust a seat in an optimum state without requiring a driver to perform complicated operation. SOLUTION: When the driver 3 is seated on the seat 1, photographing his/her eyeballs is conducted by an image pickup device 6, and the photographed image is transferred to a device 4. An infrared irradiation device 5 follows up the eyeballs and irradiates them with infrared rays, and control information is transferred to the device 4. On the basis of the control information, the device 4 senses the watching direction of the driver 3 and determines whether the the photographing direction in which the optimum state image has been photographed recorded in a ROM 43 is identical to the watching direction. If identical, the dislocation of the two images from each other is determined, and on the basis of the obtained dislocation, the adjusting amount of the seat 1 is calculated.
