PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite liquid filtration platform capable of capturing microorganisms such as bacteria, mycoplasmas or viruses and capable of improving filtration throughput and reducing purification treatment time.SOLUTION: A porous composite medium includes a porous membrane and a porous polymeric nanofiber layer located on the porous membrane, where the pore size of the porous polymeric nanofiber layer is smaller than the pore size of the porous membrane. The porous polymeric nanofiber layer comprises: a polymer selected from a group of polymers including aliphatic polyamide; a copolymer; a derivative compound thereof; or a blend of these. The porous polymeric nanofiber layer is symmetric and is an electrospun mat.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
