Vehicle steering column (10) settable in a vertical plane. The steering column has a bearing housing (20) for connection to a cab structure, a slide (30) supported for pivoting and linear movement in the bearing housing (20), a steering wheel shaft housing (40) connected to one end of the slide, and a releasable lock (60) for locking the slide (30) to the pivot bearing housing (20).
