PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery type determination device and the battery type determination method that can determine the type of lead storage battery with a high degree of accuracy.SOLUTION: A battery type determination device includes a sensor unit for detecting a terminal voltage of the lead storage battery and a type determination unit that determines the type of the lead storage battery based on the detected terminal voltage.
