The invention relates to a valve unit (1) for modulating pressure in an air-brake system, said unit comprising a brake-pressure inlet (3), a brake-pressure outlet (4), and a bleed outlet (5), in addition to an inlet valve (6) designed as a diaphragm valve, an outlet valve (7) designed as a diaphragm valve and an individual pilot valve designed as a 3/2-way solenoid valve (8, 9) for each diaphragm valve (6, 7), said individual valves being situated in an elongate valve housing (2) which, when assembled, is sub-divided by means of a joint face (10) running substantially horizontally, into a main housing (11) and a housing cover (12). To effectively sound-proof the compressed air that escapes into the environment when the outlet valve is opened (7), the valve unit (1) is provided with a silencer (75) at the bleed outlet (5), said silencer having a substantially cylindrical silencer housing (76) with an inlet opening (77), an abatement chamber (78) arranged radially inward, a large-area outlet opening (79) and a silencing insert (80.1) which consists of an air-permeable, sound-proofing material arrangement and which lies upstream of the outlet opening (79) inside the silencer housing (76), and said silencer (75) is secured to the main housing (11) by main walls (83, 84) running parallel to the joint face (10) and being situated between the brake-pressure inlet (3) and the brake-pressure outlet (4). |
