PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an imaged object region properly even in an environment such as a backlight state and the like.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises the steps of: detection determination means for determining based on a plurality of discriminators whether a subject region of an image sequentially obtained by an image obtaining means can be detected or not; correction means for conducting correction processing against data of the sequentially obtained image after the detection determination means determines that the subject region cannot be detected; first similarity calculation means for calculating first similarity between an image region for the image whose data has had the data correction processing by the correction means and the discriminators; second similarity calculation means for calculating similarity between an image region for an image whose data has not have correction processing by the correction means and the discriminators; similarity comparison means for comparing the first similarity and the second similarity; and cancellation determination means for determining whether the correction processing by the correction means is to be cancelled or not, based on a comparison result by the similarity comparison means. |
