The invention relates to a ballistic protection structure (100) comprising at least a first ballistic layer (110) made of a textile of synthetic fibers and at least a second ballistic layer (120) comprising a first holding element (121) on which a plurality of slender metallic structures (122) in the form of flat sheets and/or straight filiform elements are restrained, wherein said metallic structures (122) are restrained at different points of the first holding element (121) and protrude therefrom generally perpendicularly and wherein the free ends of the slender metallic structures (122) are restrained to said first textile layer (110). The ballistic protection structure is suitable to be employed in soldier helmets, a bulletproof vests, as well as in the manufacturing of vehicle bodyworks.
