PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of communication ports for a redundant configuration.SOLUTION: A packet relay device comprises: a plurality of communication ports for transmitting a received packet to the outside; a storage unit for storing transfer information showing correspondence between a destination of a packet and a communication port; and a switch unit that receives a target packet, a packet to be relayed, selects a communication port to be an output destination of the target packet, on the basis of the transfer information, and outputs the target packet to the selected communication port. The storage unit further stores virtual port information showing correspondence between a virtual port and a communication port. The switch unit, when a destination of a target packet corresponds to a virtual port, outputs the target packet to a communication port corresponding to the virtual port in the virtual port information. The packet relay device further comprises: a monitoring unit for monitoring a state of the packet relay device; and a redundancy switching unit that, on the basis of a result of monitoring by the monitoring unit, replaces a communication port in the virtual port information with another communication port.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
