PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of vibration, by a method wherein the absolute of an axial angle between a tip, mounted at a positive axial rake angle, and a tip, mounted at a negative axial rake angle, is set to a different angle. CONSTITUTION:Tip mounting seats 2... and tip mounting seats 3... are alternately formed on the outer periphery of a cutter body 1, and tips 4 are respectively mounted thereto. In which case, the tips 4 at the mounting seats 2... and 3... are mounted at positive and negative axial angles with a reference end surface 10 of the cutter body 1. The positive angle is set to a value lower than the negative angle. This constitution forces a cutting force exerted on the cutter body 1 during cutting to be produced in a manner to have magnitude different from each other. Further, since a time, required for cutting, per a cutting blade 8 of one tip 4 is different, the cutting force is elerted alternately at a different distance, vibration having a regular period is prevented from occurring to the cutter body 1.
