摘要 |
PURPOSE: To calculate a belonging degree by addition of a few hardware at a high speed by a single software instruction. CONSTITUTION: This is a circuit 14 and a method for deciding the belonging degree of input in a prescribed membership set during a fuzzy logic operation. The pertinent belonging degree is calculated by the single 'MEM' instruction. The MEM instruction decides whether system input is zero or has a saturation levels or the belonging degree of the value between them. An operand allocation circuit 50 and ALU 56 more speedily decide the belonging degree. The allocation circuit 50 decides a multiplier for a multiplication operation based on the number of significant bits of a value to be multiplied. When the multiplier is smaller than a multiplicant, the shorter multiplicant operation can be executed. ALU 56 operates at a split mode, two eight bits substation or multiplication operations can simultaneously be executed and the operations can efficiently be executed. |
