<p>PURPOSE: To quickly generate an image of high quality subjected to various mappings while suppressing the rise of the device cost as much as possible. CONSTITUTION: Texture data is divided into plural blocks and is stored in a texture memory 14 as divided textures. A corresponding position calculation part 12 obtains corresponding positions of texture data in picture elements displaying an object in accordance with object data, and a nearby area calculation part 15 obtains nearby areas of these corresponding positions. A memory management part 17 decides whether all of partial data consisting of elements of texture data in nearby areas is stored in a cache memory 15 or not, and divided textures including the elements which are not stored are read out from the texture memory 14 and are stored in the cache memory 15 if there are elements which are not stored, and elements of partial data are read out from the cache memory 15.</p> |
