<p>PURPOSE: To remove the irritating odor of an exhaust gas by neutralizing the gas exhausted from a gas engine. CONSTITUTION: Since the irritating odor of a gas exhausted from a gas engine is caused by the acidic substance such as NOx and org. acid, a solid which is alkaline when dissolved in water or an aq. alkaline soln. is used as a processing agent to neutralize the acidic substance. Potassium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide, etc., are exemplified as the solid and aq. potassium nydroxide, aq. sodium hydroxide, aq. calcium hydroxide, etc., as the aq. alkaline soln. When the globular processing agent 2 is used, the exhaust gas is passed through the processing agent 2 set in an exhaust pipe 1, the acidic component contained in the exhaust gas is neutralized by the agent 2, and the irritating odor is removed.</p> |
