Serial input and output circuit and interface for serial bus

The serial input/output circuit 13 operates with a port input/output circuit 4-12 of an I<2>C bus interface. The bidirectional serial bus has a clock line SCL and a data line SDA with the voltage provided by a pull up resistor. The circuit has a start detector circuit coupled to the output line that is used in control of the input /output circuit activation.
