<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove malodor by forming a carrier on which microorganisms are carried out of a string like core material, fibrous body groups for carrying the microorganisms radially extending from the core material, and linear reinforcing materials radially extending from the core material so as to be interposed between the fibrous body groups and having rigidity larger than that of the fibrous body groups. SOLUTION: A biological deodorization device for removing sulfur compounds which are a malodor source in a night soil treating facility is provided with a packed bed packed with a carrier 3 on which microorganisms are carried, and brings malodorous gas into contact with the microorganisms to remove malodorous components of the malodorous gas. In this case, the carrier 3 is formed by being provided with a string like core part 5 and fibrous body groups 5 extending from the core part 5 so as to form sings 52, both end parts of which rings 52 being fixed to the core part 5. The core part 5 is formed into a cylinder, and both end parts of one ring 52 are fixed to two points a1, a2 close to each other on a spiral 6 drawn along the outer peripheral surface of the core part 5 respectively, and both end parts of another ring 52 adjacent to this ring 52 are fixed to two points b1, b2 close to the two points a1, a2 on the spiral 6 respectively.</p> |
