PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a danger of a tool holder being damaged as a result by providing an axial suppression block limiting motion of a holding element in an axial direction and a radial suppression element limiting motion of a holding member in a radial direction. SOLUTION: Force directing in a radial direction of a lock ball 46 is prevented by an annular suppression element 56, a radially inward surface of this element 56 presses a radial outside tip of the lock ball 46 and force directing in an axial direction of the lock ball 46 acts on a rear surface of an axial suppression block 68. The axial suppression block 68 is moved forward by about 2 mm under impact of the lock ball 46. For this moving period, an internal holding ring band 62 of a nose ring 60 is deformed at a front end of a reaction ring 50. This ring 60 absorbs at least of some impact of the lock ball 46 by the deformation. |
