<p>A carbon brush for an electric machine which comprises a carbon brush substrate containing a solid lubricant such as molybdenum disulfide, tungsten disulfide or the like and a grinding material such as alumina, silica, silicon carbide or the like and, formed on the whole surface thereof except that of the portion contacting with a commutator, a well conductive metal coating film; and the above carbon brush wherein the well conductive metal coating film is not formed and the carbon brush substrate is exposed in a part or the whole of at least one surface of the side planes perpendicular to the direction of rotation of the commutator.</p> |
