<p>Systems and methods are described for an optiplex. A method includes: conveying a first narrowcast signal (602) to a first optical combiner (700); conveying a second narrowcast signal (602) to a second optical combiner (700); tapping to the first narrowcast signal (650); monitoring a first characteristic of the first narrowcast signal; combining a broadcast signal (505) with the first narrowcast signal using the first optical combiner (602); and combining the broadcast signal (505) with the second narrowcast signal (602) using the second optical combiner (700). An apparatus includes: a first optical input (500); an optical splitter (504) connected to the first optical input (500); a first optical waveguide (505) connected to the optical splitter (504); a second optical waveguide (505) connected to the optical splitter (504); a first optical combiner (700) connected to the first optical waveguide; a second optical combiner connected to the second optical waveguide (700); a second optical input (602); and optical demulitplexer (601); a third and fourth optical waveguide (602) connected to the optical demultiplexer (601); a first/second tap coupler (603) connected to the third/fourth optical waveguide (602) and the first/second optical combiner (700); a first optical signal sensor (604) coupled to both the first tap coupler (603) and a signal processing unit (400) and a second optical signal sensor (604) coupled to both the second tap coupler (603) and the signal processing unit (400).</p> |
