PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for curing an ultraviolet curable resin, capable of effectively improving a phenomenon hard to cure the surface of the resin while using a light emitting diode as a light source, and an ultraviolet irradiation device. SOLUTION: In the ultraviolet irradiation device wherein a head part 12, used for curing the ultraviolet curable resin for use in bonding a small part, and a control part are connected by an electric cable, the head part is equipped with a cylindrical housing 21, the light emitting diode 22 provided in the housing to emit near ultraviolet rays and a gas flow channel FP for guiding an inert gas. The controller part is equipped with a power supply for driving the light emitting diode 22 of the head part 12 and a control circuit. A near ultraviolet irradiation port 26a for emitting the near ultraviolet rays from the light emitting diode 22 and a gas jet orifice 25a for ejecting the inert gas from the gas flow channel FP are provided to the leading end surface 21F of the housing 21 of the head part 12.
