PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit the generation of prompt NOx by preventing the air from being excessively supplied to a base part of primary combustion flame of the primary and secondary combustion flames formed at a flame formation part. SOLUTION: In this combustion hot air heater comprising a burner 11, a burner base 1 for mounting the burner 11, a heat chamber 2 mounted on an upper face of the burner base 1 to cover the burner 11, and an air blower 3 mounted on a back face of the heat chamber 2, a draft guide 16 is mounted for guiding the air flowing into the heat chamber 2 from a clearance 25 between a back wall lower part of the heat chamber 2 opposite to the air blower 3 and the burner base 1, to an upper position with respect to an area where the burner 11 is mounted in the combustion cylinder 2, to prevent the air flowing into the combustion cylinder 2 from the clearance 25 from being brought into contact with the flame formation part 12 of the burner 11.
