PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire cutting electrical discharge machine not resetting breaking of wire when a wire electrode is broken in the neighborhood of a work finishing position. SOLUTION: A changing command of breaking of wire resetting processing is set on an NC program of the wire cutting discharge machine by M codes. These M codes are M529 and M528, M529 is a command to nullify a breaking of wire resetting function and M528 is a command to effectuate the breaking of wire resetting function. Consequently, it is possible to easily set a breaking of wire resetting nullifying section by M529 and M528. Furthermore, these M codes can be set and changed on the working program of the NC program by operating an operation panel. Consequently, the NC program is sequentially read by a CPU (S2), and a breaking of wire resetting flag is off (S8) in the case of M529 (S6: YES), while the breaking of wire resetting flag is on (S7) in the case of M528 (S6: NO).
