PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method which enables coating even a structure having recesses by use of a rotary atomization type gun. SOLUTION: The coating method comprises atomization coating a coating containing a flake-like bright pigment to the surface of a car bumper by use of a rotary atomization type coating gun. It has a stage A of coating through atomizing in such a way that the average particle size of the coating on spreading on a to-be-coated material becomes equal to or smaller than that of the bright pigment and a stage B of coating through atomizing in such a way that the average particle size of the coating becomes equal to or larger than that in the stage A.
