PARTICLE BEAM THERAPY APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle beam therapy apparatus which achieves both a treatment and a diagnosis which is given feedback by a radiologist in real-time on the same floor. SOLUTION: The compact particle beam therapy apparatus comprises a particle beam generating/accelerating part 3 for generating and accelerating both proton beams and particle beams such as carbon ions which are emitted to an affected part of a human body by irradiating a membrane target tape with a laser; and a PET diagnosis supporting part 5 equipped with the PET which performs an image diagnosis of the affected part of the human body by emitting the particle beams to the affected part of the human body and a treatment by irradiating the affected part of the human body with the particle beams and utilizes an auto-activation phenomenon of the affected part of the human body which is produced by the particle beam irradiation for the treatment status of the affected part of the human body; wherein the above parts are compactly constituted and integrally arranged on the same floor.
