PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tension type gas release preventer having further improved operating stability. SOLUTION: The tension type gas release preventer 1 comprises a fixed unit 2 and a movable unit 3. The fixed unit has a fit-in supporting cavity 15 and a thrust supporting face portion 24, and it can be fixed and connected to a gas supply source. The movable unit 3 has a fit-in portion 41 and a hose joint portion 42, and the fit-in portion 41 is slidably fitted in the fit-in supporting cavity in the state of being connected to a gas hose 5 via the hose joint portion. Besides, a seal mechanism 28 is provided for shutting off the fit-in supporting cavity from the outside. The seal mechanism includes a ring packing 30 having a base portion 31 and a lip portion 32.
