A media device 1 comprises a housing 2, a chargeable battery, an electric generator, and a lever 16. In use, rotation of the lever 16 causes the generator to generate electrical energy which is stored by charging the chargeable battery, and the chargeable battery provides power for the media device. The media device may be a MPEG player e.g. MP3 or MP4. The device may incorporate a radio receiver, a sound recorder, an image recorder, an LCD screen 3 or a lamp. A socket 5 is provided to supply electricity to charge a further mobile device e.g. a mobile phone. |
