<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device and an image forming apparatus which exert sufficient agitation performance of a developer without lowering a conveyance speed of the developer, and therefore, surely form an image of high sharpness. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device is formed with a circulation conveyance passage by a supplying and recovering section arranged with supplying and recovering means for conveying the developer to an axial direction and an agitating section arranged with two agitating means and is so constituted that an opening for toner supply is formed in a position above the opposing portions of the two agitating means and on the upstream side in the conveyance direction of the developer in the agitating section. The two agitating means are so rotated that their respective peripheral surfaces are moved to a forward direction from above to below in the opposing portions and both convey the developer in the direction opposite to the direction of the supplying and recovering means and have the conveyance capabilities at which the summation of the amounts of the developer conveyed by the respective agitating means are made equal to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
