A plasma display panel is provided to prevent the expansion of lights toward adjacent discharge cells by adjusting the progressive path of visible rays while penetrating a dielectric, a front substrate, and a filter film. A plasma display panel includes a front substrate(20), a rear substrate(10), discharge cells(18), a phosphor layer(19), first and second electrodes(21,23), a dielectric(28), and a filter film(41). The front substrate displays images. The rear substrate is opposite to the front substrate. The discharge cells are disposed between the front and rear substrates. The phosphor layer is formed in the discharge cells. The first and second electrodes form a discharge gap in respective discharge cells. The dielectric fills the first and second electrodes. The filter film is formed opposite to the dielectric through the front substrate. The refractive index of the filter film is larger than that of the front substrate.
