PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for detecting a flammable gas, which precisely detects a flammable gas even if the temperature range of a gas to be measured is over a wide range from a low temperature to a high temperature, when a flammable gas is detected by using contact combustion type gas detecting section and a heat conduction type gas detecting section. SOLUTION: The device 1 for detecting a flammable gas, stops the supplying power to a heating resistor 211 for a contact combustion type (S160) and detects the concentration of a flammable gas based on the electric resistance value of a heating resistor 221 for a heat conduction type (S190) when an atmosphere temperature T is lower than a lower limit temperature T1 in control standards for an electrified state (affirmation determination is performed by S160), in a gas detecting process. When the temperature of an object gas to be measured (the atmosphere temperature T) is the lower limit temperature T1 or greater, moisture generated is diffused without staying. Thus, the moisture neither freezes nor stays. Staying moisture that may cause deterioration in the detection accuracy of a flammable gas is prevented and the deterioration in the detection accuracy is suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
