PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection head drive system which can facilitate control of a voltage being applied to a piezoelectric element. SOLUTION: When a head control section 30 designates an SW section 36 to turn a switching element SW on, a drive voltage application section 32 applies a predetermined drive voltage (drive waveform) to the individual electrode 44 of a piezoelectric element 40. A power supply control section 34 applies a voltage including a variation voltage dependent on the environmental information of ink temperature, or the like, to a common electrode 42. When the piezoelectric element 40 is polarized, the power supply control section 34 is controlled to apply a voltage having a negative polarity to the common electrode 42.
