GENERATING CRC SYNDROMES WITH DATA EXTRACTED FROM SYNDROME LOOP

In CRC processing of parallel data (13), the determination of a data contribution to each syndrome (11) can be extracted from the syndrome loop (12, 24B). This permits the syndrome loop to complete its operation within a single clock cycle, regardless of the parallel data width. The logic (24A) used to determine the data contribution can be pipelined as much as needed to meet the applicable timing requirement(s).
