<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To structure a storage capacitor of a sufficient size in a display device having a liquid crystal display panel with pixels in a minimized dimension. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal display panel including a first substrate, a second substrate and a liquid crystal held between the first substrate and the second substrate and having a plurality of pixels arranged in matrix. The first substrate has a layered structure in a transmissive display region provided in at least a part of each pixel, the structure including a first transparent electrode, a first insulating film, a second transparent electrode, a second insulating film and a third transparent electrode, in this order from the side close to the first substrate, in which the first transparent electrode and the second transparent electrode are electrically insulated from each other and constitute a first storage capacitor via the first insulating film, and the second transparent electrode and the third transparent electrode are electrically insulated from each other and constitute a second storage capacitor via the second insulating film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
