<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cultured artificial bone using a porous hydroxyapatite (HAp) block body as a base material, and to provide its production method. <P>SOLUTION: The cultured artificial bone is produced by immersing the porous HAp block body in an aqueous acid, then seeding cells to the porous HAp block body which is washed with distilled water and dried, performing cultivation and inducing calcification. As the porous HAp block body to be used, it is preferable that the porosity is ≥70%. It is preferable that the aqueous acid to be used is a phosphoric acid aqueous solution, and as the cells to be used, the cells for which preosteoblast cells or periosteal cells or periodontal ligament cells having differentiation capacity to osteoblast cells are cultured are suitably used. It is preferable that the cultivation is performed by rotary cultivation using a rotator.
