OPTICAL SIGNAL MONITOR APPARATUS, OPTICAL SYSTEM AND OPTICAL SIGNAL MONITOR METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal monitor apparatus which is small in size and low in cost by decreasing the number of PD arrays and simplifying the configuration of an optical power monitor in a WDM system, and to provide an optical system and an optical signal monitor method.

SOLUTION: An optical power monitor 1 comprises an optical switch 30 including four input ports 31, a DMUX 2 comprising output ports of 48 ports and six CSP-type PD array modules 50 each with a built-in PD array of 8 channels. An optical switch 30 and an AWG 20 obtained from a planar light wave circuit (PLC) are used for the optical switch and a DMUX. An output port 32 of the optical switch 30 comprising four switchable input ports 31 is optically connected with an input port 21 of the AWG 20. Furthermore, each of 48 output ports 22 of the AWG 20 is optically connected with a photo-detection plane 53 of each PD built in the CSP-type PD array module 50 and the CSP-type PD array module 50 is mounted to the end face of the AWG 20.
